The not so humble Prinergy PDF!

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

At the time it may not have seemed like a revolutionary development but over the past two years the Prinergy has helped lower lead-times, increase flexibility, improve reliability and most importantly, reduce your costs!

In January 2008 we invested in a new addition to our proofing procedure here in TPI, the Prinergy PDF. This is not just a red stamp that appears at the top of artwork you receive from us from time to time, its much much more.

A Prinergy PDF is an emailed visual of your artwork  -  but is very different to a standard PDF. The Prinergy is ripped from the same file as the printing plate that will print your “actual” job, a standard PDF is not. If there is an error on the Prinergy, there will be an error on the job. For content it is a guarantee. When the Prinergy and the plate are ripped from the same file it’s impossible for them to differ….. that’s what’s special! This is why it is so important to take extra care when you see the red dot that says Prinergy.  Make sure to re-read everything again before you pass the document off!

This was not the case of old, reliable proofing by email just wasn’t possible before – it was unreliable and sometimes text would jump and errors occur.
It may not sound like much but this is now a failsafe, it’s piece of mind and belt and braces that was not there before.  It’s the reliability of a cromalin but the flexibility of email. Hard copy proofing(or cromalins as they used to be called) is still our standard practice. A physical proof being sent to the client, checked for size, colour and copy, signed and returned to us as final pass off on the job. But before, if there was an error, if something needed to be changed the artwork would need to be amended, a new hard copy proof produced and then sent to the client all over again. Now we can just send an email, a Prinergy PDF email. It might not sound like much but it often saves a day and all the associated costs – it speeds up the proofing process for you.

Over the past two years printing prices have dropped dramatically, lead-times required have shortened and quality standards demanded have increased. A near impossible combination but one that the not so humble Prinergy PDF has helped us deliver to you our customers.

Year of the Tiger

Thursday, February 11th, 2010

The Chinese New Year this year is the “Year of the Tiger” and falls on the 14th February 2010.

The factories in China and our TPI Premiums office in Hong Kong are closed this week and will not re-open until 22nd February.

Tiger

The Chinese use the lunar calendar for celebratory events which includes the New Year. This falls somewhere between late January and early February. The cycle of twelve animal signs originates from Chinese tradition as a way of naming the years. The animals follow one another in an established order and are replicated every twelve years. The rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, rooster, dog and pig are the twelve animal signs. Every animal has particular characteristics and people born in a specific year are believed to take on these characteristics.

Wrap it up…with TPI

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

Many companies pay thousands for Outdoor Advertising Space while you may well be sitting on a prime opportunity to get your message out there!

During our recent rebrand The Printed Image took the opportunity to utilise our large building front to bring our new logo and brand to all passing traffic by printing and installing a high quality canvas mesh Building Wrap. We added to this by printing and installing flags and signage around our reception area to leave no one in doubt they were entering The Printed Image!

These building wraps are easy to install and can be as large or small as required, giving you a real opportunity to get that outdoor advertising exposure without the large price tag!

We have had very positive feedback on our new branding along with a number of enquiries for similar projects. If you would like a quotation please contact sales@tpi.ie or 01 4089222. We are also now offering a 10% reduction on all orders placed for building wraps in 2010. Please quote “Blog offer” when requesting estimate.
