Personally I fall into the Millennial age bracket and one thing that I rarely receive is a package, a direct mail or an envelope through the post. I am however inundated with email marketing on a daily basis. Do I pay attention to them? To some yes. To them all? Absolutely not. The working day is busy and prioritisation of emails is a job in itself.
However, I am not afraid to say I get a little sense of excitement when I see an envelope with my name on it come in, never mind a small package. I would imagine that this is the same for many people of my generation. It is becoming a clever way to reach people while in the past it may have been considered as junk.
Direct Marketing is something that we sell to our clients in TPI Group. The opportunities are endless when it comes to design and production. It may cost slightly more than an email however which is more likely to leave a lasting impression? If done correctly and to the correct target market, it works.
Colin, the group CEO here in TPI Group was recently nominated as a finalist in the EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2016 competition. The awards will be broadcasted to the nation on UTV Ireland on the 27th of October. He may not admit it, even after this blog is published, but I am sure he is sweating over what to wear on the night. It’s not just the women who worry about wardrobe malfunctions.
Louis Copeland reached out in one of the best pieces of Direct Marketing I have seen this year. Last Friday they sent a simple branded bag into Colin. Within the bag was a personalised letter (not just with Colin’s name but also with company name) and a free bow tie. To quote from the letter
