Screen Printing was formally known as Silk Screen. Instead of using a plate (like in lithographic printing) screen printing makes use a stencil that is prepared on a screen mesh through which the ink is forced onto the substrate. Screen printing is very versatile as it can be used to print on almost any surface or material of any size, shape or thickness. Typical examples include outdoor posters, display boxes and large point of sale units. Most marketing campaigns would involve the use of screen printing onto large heavy boards or vinyls.
TPI tip: Choose screen printing for large format items and heavy material such as corrugated or vinyl.
