April Fools day is around the corner and we decided to have some fun. Leinster Rugby are playing Wasps this Saturday April 1st and we wanted to give a couple of tickets away to clients whilst having a bit of fun in the process. Runway Marketing were tasked with coming up with a campaign that would raise an eyebrow amongst readers while encouraging them to engage with TPI in a humorous manner.
After a little bit of deliberation, Runway decided on a “O’ Driscoll comes out of retirement” email and social media campaign. You may have guessed it, but unfortunately O’Driscoll hasn’t come back. Clients were asked to tell us their best April Fools prank to be in with a chance of winning two tickets to the big game at the Aviva.
We received a number of responses to the campaign, mainly through email marketing with some coming from social media. The worthy winner was Suzanne Acton from Naura Life with;
“A great April Fools Day prank that requires very little effort is to do absolutely nothing but grin knowingly at friends or family while making loaded comments such as “enjoy your coffee”/ “are you sure you should use that milk” or “have you used the toilet yet today?”. Then sit back and watch them squirm while they try to work out what you have plotted!”
