The TPI Group was recently named as a Deloitte Best Managed (DBM) Company. It is a massive honour for the organisation and a worldwide stamp of quality which all the TPI team are extremely proud of. As usual, Richard Howard and his team in Deloitte put on a wonderful day. A swarm of great speakers shared their thoughts to a packed crowd at the National Conference Centre. This was followed by a Gala and quality entertainment long into the night. I had to nip off at twelveish. I’m not sure I want to know what time some of my fellow TPI colleagues finished up at!

The Deloitte Best Managed process brings out the best in The TPI Group. Each year we have to prove our worth and it’s certainly no given that we will be rewarded with the title. The application process requires proof of progression and it is up to us to ensure that we meet the standard. This is a real benchmark for the team and the real sense of satisfaction that comes with requalification drives us. It is truly 136 pairs of hands working across six companies with the common objective of improving ourselves that wins this award.

It is imperative to strive for improvement or TPI risk losing this tremendous honour held for six years now. It is not and will not be taken for granted by myself or the wider team. TPI must not sit on our laurels. We win only if we improve. We win if we aim high and try to get to that new standard.

As my hero Bill Shankly once said;

“Aim for the sky and you’ll reach the ceiling. Aim for the ceiling and you’ll stay on the floor.”

So along with all my team mates, we go again, aiming for the sky…
